In what can only be described as grand news for all Amsterdam gourmets, the Michelin Guide has officially awarded Restaurant 212 a second Michelin star today.
It’s no secret that founders Thomas Groot and Richard van Oostenbrugge know their way around a menu, and us (along with all of Amsterdam), can’t wait for their next delicious update, which word on the street says will become a reality once restaurants reopen their doors.
In the meantime, if you, like us, simply can’t wait until the reopening, you create your own Michelin feast at home with their current menu. Kick off your fine dining experience with their velvety steak tartare with oyster cream, followed by the poussin, roasted young chicken, with coarse mustard and tarragon. Finally, crown your full-course menu with a slice of their apple pie with a zesty yuzu cream; this dessert alone deserves star number three, if you ask us.
Throw in some classy tunes and polished silverware, and you’ve got yourself a first-class culinary event, at home. All you need to do is sit back, relax, and wait for your two-star Michelin fine dining delivery to arrive.
